Understanding and Supporting Sensory Processing Differences in the Classroom is a 2 hour course delivered over two parts and will cover:
Key sensory processing differences in autistic children and young people and how this may present in a school setting.
The importance of sensory differences in the DSM V Criteria.
Strategies and tools to gather information and make reasonable adjustments
Delegates will
Have an understanding of sensory processing in individuals and its impact upon them.
Understand how sensory overload can present in school settings.
Be able to use sensory audits to ascertain information about the school environment and the individual pupil to inform reasonable adjustments.
Explore a sensory toolkit of resources to help support sensory differences
Cost: FREE to all Worcestershire Local Authority / Academy and Free-Schools
Cost: Independent Schools and all other settings: £35 + VAT per delegate
