7004: Emergency First Aid - T7

First Aid equipment and first aid trained personnel at the workplace are requirements of Health & Safety law. In emergencies, Emergency First Aiders can act to prevent situations becoming major issues and can limit potential sick leave through prompt action.  The alphanumerical code at the end of the course title is for WCC admin purposes only.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
• State the role of the Emergency First Aider
• Perform a primary survey of a casualty
• Demonstrate how to place an unconscious casualty into the recovery position
• Perform effective CPR to current Resuscitation Council guidelines
• Show how to deal with minor & major cases of bleeding
• State how to recognise and treat a patient suffering from medical shock

Qualification:
• Re-certification required every 3 years
• Successful candidates will receive an Emergency First Aid certificate from an approved training body
• This qualification will provide evidence towards SHC 24, HSC 027, HSC 037, L2 EFAW, within the Diploma in Health and Social Care.
