7007: Adult Safeguarding, Recognising, Responding, Enquiry and Reporting - T20

This course is for WCC Provider Services and external Care Settings who report safeguarding concerns, participate in enquiries and who provide support to adults with care and support needs and carers.  Learners are required to complete the Adult Safeguarding Basic Awareness  (either eLearning or classroom) before attending this course. This session will run on Zoom and be interactive with the Trainer and the group.    
Lunch is from 12:30 - 13:30

The content of this course will cover the (WSAB) Multi-agency Safeguarding Adults Competency framework standards 6 to 16.

 By the end of the session delegates will be able to:
1. Look at the policies, procedures and legislation that supports Adult Safeguarding Activity
2. To consider the legal framework of adult safeguarding, particularly the changes from the Care Act 2014.
3. Consider how to support staff to fully understand and implement their role in adult safeguarding
4. Explore the role of supporting staff/a team during an enquiry
5. Demonstrate an understanding of their specific professional role in ensuring the prevention of abuse
6. Demonstrate skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to the safeguarding process
7. Awareness of local and national policy and procedural framework when undertaking adult safeguarding activity
 8. Understand how best evidence is achieved
9. Ensure adults with care and support needs / carers are supported appropriately to understand Safeguarding issues to maximize their decision making
10. Understand when to use emergency systems to protect adults with care and support needs
11. Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date records
12. Demonstrate required level of skills and knowledge to undertake an adult safeguarding enquiry
