519 - Essential Digital Skills for Life

Description:

If you find everyday online tasks difficult, the Essential Digital Skills for Life course will help you build your confidence and improve your digital skills.

On this course you’ll develop the practical digital skills needed for everyday life. You’ll learn how to complete common tasks such as communicating online with others using email or other messaging applications, creating and editing simple documents, browsing the internet using different search engines to find information you need, using online services and buying securely online, using apps and completing online forms. You’ll also learn how to protect your personal information and stay safe while using the internet. This course is suitable for learners with basic computer knowledge and who want to build on those skills to become more confident and independent.

Before the start of the course, you’ll be invited to attend an induction and skills check session to ensure the course is the right level for you.

A laptop will be provided for you to use during the lessons, no need to bring your own device.

**Entry requirements: You should already have basic computer skills or have completed our ‘Digital Skills for Absolute Beginners’ course. You must be able to communicate clearly in English, read and write and understand instructions.

After completing this course, you’ll be able to progress onto the ‘Essential Digital Skills for Work’ or 'Microsoft Office Skills' course, where you can continue building your digital confidence.
