Description:
A course for any adult with dyslexia or any adult wanting an introduction to dyslexia: What it is, theories, how it’s diagnosed, characteristics that may be present and issues that someone may struggle with. You will learn about managing your dyslexia and/or how to support someone else with dyslexia, the different resources you might use – at home, in school and in the workplace - and how to ease the challenges someone with dyslexia may face in their daily life.
The course will help learners to know how to develop strategies to support themselves and others with dyslexia. This supportive course will give learners the time to talk to others in similar situations. You will be able to describe what dyslexia is, be able to identify the common signs of dyslexia, understand the different types of dyslexia and build your confidence in supporting a dyslexic individual or with managing your own dyslexia.
Additional Information: Most of our courses are subsidised either wholly or in part by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). The ESFA require us to collect information about our learners to monitor how their funding is being spent and to gauge the effectiveness of our equality and diversity policy. You will therefore be asked to submit further enrolment data once you have booked your place. We only collect data that is required by the ESFA, and use it in line with our privacy notice. We may not be able to offer you a place on our courses if you're unable to provide us with the required information. We endeavour to continue to provide free and subsidised courses for the people of Worcestershire. We thank you for your cooperation.
