Description:
The Entry 3 fast-track Functional Skills  English course condenses our year-long programme into a 10 week course. The qualification in English at Entry 3  is suitable for learners who are working at Intermediate level (B1) on the European framework and want to take a first-step qualification in English Functional Skills.  During the course you will develop your communication skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening.  Elements of ESOL spelling, punctuation and grammar are also covered.  Assessment will take place in the last week of the course using externally set exams for reading and writing and in-class assessment of speaking and listening skills.
The course is for learners who do not already have an  English GCSE  or Functional  Skills Level 2 pass    -  your learning will be free as a result.
Please note: you will need to pass an initial assessment to have your place on this course confirmed. If  your initial assessment suggests the course will not meet your learning needs, we will discuss alternative options with you.

To be eligible for the course, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 19 years old;
  • Reside in Worcestershire;
  • EEA and Switzerland nationals- have an eligible residency status if obtained either pre-settled or settled status under EUSS and have lived continuously in the EEA, Switzerland, Gibraltar, or the UK for at least three previous years;
  • Other non-UK nationals- have lived in the UK for at least three consecutive years and possess valid permission from the UK government to reside in the UK or have pre-settled or settled status under the EUSS
