511 - Essential Digital Skills for Work

Description:

Do you have some experience using the internet and digital devices but want to feel more confident using them at work?

This practical course will help you develop the essential digital skills needed for today’s workplace. You will learn how to organise and manage digital files, create professional documents, communicate effectively using email, use Microsoft Teams to work with colleagues and join online meetings. You will also explore digital calendars, helping you manage your time, plan activities and solve workplace tasks more efficiently. The course will help you work safely and professionally online by protecting information, recognising digital risks and following good digital working practices.
Whether you are looking for work, starting a new job, or improving your current skills, this course will help you become more confident and effective in a digital workplace.

A laptop will be provided for you to use during the lessons, no need to bring your own device.

Before the start of the course, you’ll be invited to attend an induction and Skills Assessment session to ensure the course is the right level for you. Please note that the initial assessment may take place on a different day from the main course.

**Entry requirements: You should already have basic computer skills or have completed our ‘Essential Digital Skills for Life’ course. You must be able to communicate clearly in English, read and write and understand instructions.

After completing this course, you’ll be able to progress onto the ‘Microsoft Office Skills’ course, where you can continue building your digital confidence.
