Do you want to take your first steps into an exciting career in Fashion, Theatre, Media Hair and Makeup? Our Hair and Media Make-up course will get you working hands-on to give you an excellent foundation in these areas for further study and for future jobs in the media make-up industry.
The course has been specifically designed to develop practical skills in make-up and some hairdressing elements, enabling you to perform these services as well as assist others within the industry. Due to the rapid growth of the Media industry demand is increasing for professionals who can provide creative hairdressing and make-up skills in a range of areas, from TV, film and stage productions to photographic work, bridal make-up and face painting. The qualification includes: photographic make up, body art design, themed face painting, temporary colouring of hair, plaiting and twisting hair, shaping and colouring brows, nail art, create an image based on a theme and instruction on make up application.
Our classes are small and friendly and designed to give you the support you need to succeed. You will also have the opportunity to gain some vital industry-based work experience.
PLEASE NOTE: The course will be delivered over two sessions Mondays 9.30 - 12.30 and Wednesdays 9.30 - 12.30
Additional Information: You will need a good level of written and spoken English (level 1 standard) and to be able to fully commit to your course. A level one qualification in Hair or Beauty can provide a good foundation for this course but it is not vital. After successfully completing this qualification, you will be able to apply for work in the sector as an employee or apprentice. Some learners also progress to complete a related Level 3 qualification.
The majority of learners taking this course do not have to pay for their learning. The full cost of this course is £1994.40 If you're not eligible for concessions, your place will be co-funded and you will be required to pay a contribution of 50%. To enrol for a place with full fee remission (ie. a free place) you will need to provide evidence that your income is below £26,800 (or you have no income). Most of our courses are subsidised either wholly or in part by the Adult Skills Fund (ASF). The ASF require us to collect information about our learners to monitor how their funding is being spent and to gauge the effectiveness of our equality and diversity policy.
