The Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical and Media Make Up is a creative programme that mixes both the theory and practical skills needed for a career in the make-up industry.This qualification builds on existing knowledge and understanding of make-up artistry gained at Level 2, enabling you to expand the scope of your technical skills to prepare you for employment as a make-up artist. Due to the rapid growth of the Media industry demand is rapidly increasing for professionals who can provide creative hairdressing and make-up skills in a range of areas, from screen and stage productions to photographic work and face painting.
The content of this qualification is comprised of all the required elements to work effectively as a make-up artist including airbrush make-up for the face, camouflage make-up, fashion and photographic make-up and media make-up. These units are all mandatory.
You also have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of optional units to enhance your practical skills in both hair and make-up application/beauty techniques such as face and body art, mehndi skin decoration, applying prosthetic pieces, styling and fitting postiche, wig services and fantasy hair design, production arts planning and many more related units.
PLEASE NOTE the course will be delivered over 2 sessions Tuesdays 9.30 -12.30 and Wednesdays 9.30 - 12.30
Additional Information: You will need a good level of written and spoken English (level 2 standard) and to be able to fully commit to your course. A level two qualification in Hair or Beauty can provide a good foundation for this course. After successfully completing this qualification, you will be able to apply for work in the sector as an employee or apprentice. Some learners also progress to complete a related degree level qualification.
