402 - Level 2 Certificate in Support Work in Schools (Teaching Assistant qualification)

Description:
This course seeks to develop the knowledge and understanding that all those working in a school setting will need. It covers areas such as safeguarding, pupil welfare, positive behaviour management, learning, communication and understanding the school context. This course will provide you with the skills required for a role such as a Teaching Assistant.

Learners will be DBS cleared and carry out a work placement in a school (Primary, Secondary or Middle), completing a minimum of 3hrs voluntary work per week.

Learners must have the required language and literacy skills to be able to achieve this qualification (Level 2 or GCSE or working towards). They should also have sufficient numeracy skills themselves to be able to support pupils’ learning in this regard.
Additional Information: The majority of learners taking this course  do not have to pay for their learning. The full cost of this course is £1080. If you're not eligible for concessions, your place will be co-funded and you will be required to pay a contribution of 50%. To enrol for a place with full fee remission (ie. a free place) you will need to provide evidence that your income is below £25,000 (or you have no income).  Please see Concessionary Criteria for further information.

An initial induction will be completed at recruitment events or at the first session of the course.

Most of our courses are subsidised either wholly or in part by the Adult Skills Fund (ASF). The ASF require us to collect information about our learners to monitor how their funding is being spent and to gauge the effectiveness of our equality and diversity policy. You will therefore be asked to submit further enrolment data once you have booked your place. We only collect data that is required by the ASF and use it in line with our privacy notice. We may not be able to offer you a place on our courses if you're unable to provide us with the required information. We endeavour to continue to provide free and subsidised courses for the people of Worcestershire. We thank you for your cooperation.

Please Note: To enrol on this course you must register your interest first. One of our staff will then contact you to ensure suitability. At which point we will take payment and confirm your booking.
