500 - Digital Skills for Absolute Beginners

Description: 

The course is suitable for learners who have little to no experience with computers or digital devices. Whether you are looking to develop skills for personal use, to communicate with friends and family or to enhance your employability, this course will provide a supportive and friendly environment to help you build confidence in using digital technology. By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Turn a computer on and off and log in, use a mouse and keyboard and navigate the desktop environment.
- Connect to Wi-Fi network and browse the internet using different search engines
- Use different settings on your device to make it easier to use
- Understand the importance of online safety and privacy, create strong passwords, and protect your personal information.

A laptop will be provided for you to use during the lessons, no need to bring your own device.

Before the start of the course, you’ll be invited to attend an induction and Skills Assessment session to ensure the course is the right level for you. Please note that the initial assessment may take place on a different day from the main course.

**Entry requirements: This course is aimed at learners with no or little experience of using digital devices or the internet. You must be able to communicate clearly in English, read and write and understand instructions.

After completing this course, you’ll be able to progress onto the Essential Digital Skills for Life’ course, where you can continue building your digital confidence.

After booking, you will need to provide extra enrolment data. We only collect necessary information and follow our privacy notice.
