900 - SENDIASS - What does a good EHCP look like? (for parents/carers)

Description:

Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) are a key tool in ensuring young people with SEND get the right support in education. This free interactive workshop is designed to help parents and carers understand what makes an EHCP effective, how to engage in the process, and how to advocate for their child’s needs.

Who is it for?: This session is most relevant for parents and carers who are either new to the EHCP process, have a draft EHCP for their child, or are attending an Annual Review.

What to Expect:

  • A step-by-step guide to EHCPs and the key components that make them effective.
  • How to request amendments and ensure the plan reflects your child’s specific needs.
  • Guidance on working with professionals, including schools and local authorities, to get the best outcomes.
  • The opportunity to ask questions and hear real-life examples from other parents.

Session Details: This is a two-hour interactive workshop with discussion and practical exercises.

Takeaway: By the end of the session, parents and carers will feel more confident in reviewing their child’s EHCP and advocating for the right support.
