106 - ESOL - Functional Skills English Level 2

The ESOL - Functional Skills Level 2 English qualification condenses our year-long programme into an 18- week course. This Level 2 qualification in English is equivalent to a GCSE grade 4 in English, the standard requirement for many jobs and career pathways in the UK. The course is suitable for advanced learners (equivalent to C1 on the CEFR framework). During the course you will develop your communication skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening.  Elements of ESOL spelling, punctuation and grammar are also covered. You will:
-    Develop your ability to express ideas clearly and confidently in a variety of everyday situations.
-    Enhance your ability to read and understand a variety of texts.
-    Improve skills in identifying main ideas, details, and purposes within different types of texts.
-    Build confidence in interpreting information from texts relevant to everyday life and work situations.
-    Improve your ability to produce clear and appropriate texts such as emails, letters, articles and reports.
-    Strengthen skills in organising ideas logically and using correct grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
-    Gain confidence in writing for different purposes and audiences, including formal and informal contexts.

Assessment will take place in the last week of the course in the form of externally set exams for reading and writing and in-class assessment of speaking and listening skills.
The course is for learners who do not already have a  GCSE or equivalent pass grade in English (grade C, grade 4  or above) -  your learning will be free as a result.
