This short qualification course is designed to develop your skills in providing facial massage and skincare treatments, equipping you with practical techniques and a solid understanding of skincare principles. The majority of our learners do not have to pay for their learning (see concessionary criteria).

What will I learn?
During this course, you will gain skills and knowledge in:
- Preparation: Includes consultation skills, skin analysis techniques, and selecting products based on skin types and needs.
- Treatment Techniques: Practical skills like exfoliation, facial massage, mask application, and facial moisturising.
- Health and Safety: Safe hygiene practices and understanding the importance of health and safety legislation.
- Aftercare and Client Advice: Offering tailored advice for post-treatment skincare and lifestyle adjustments to maintain skin health.
Additional Information: Assessment
To achieve this qualification, you will complete both practical assessments and a written test. Your practical skills will be assessed through observations by a qualified assessor, and you’ll also sit two external tests to assess your theoretical understanding.
Progression
Upon successful completion, you may consider progressing to a full Beauty Therapy qualification course. This qualification provides a valuable stepping stone for those aiming to build a career in beauty therapy.
After applying for a place on this course, you will complete an initial assessment. Once you have completed this, we will offer you a place on this course, or signpost you to a more suitable alternative if necessary.
Most of our courses are subsidised either wholly or in part by the Adult Skills Fund (ASF). The ASF require us to collect information about our learners to monitor how their funding is being spent and to gauge the effectiveness of our equality and diversity policy.
