This short qualification course is designed to develop your skills in providing facial massage and skincare treatments, equipping you with practical techniques and a solid understanding of skincare principles. Ideal for aspiring beauty therapists or those seeking to expand their skillset, this course combines practical training with the essential knowledge to help you deliver safe, effective facial treatments. The majority of our learners do not have to pay for their learning (see concessionary criteria).
 

Who is this course for?
This award is suitable for beginners and those with a basic interest in beauty therapy. It provides a strong foundation for those looking to gain qualifications in facial skincare and massage, covering essential techniques and industry knowledge to prepare you for work in the beauty sector.

What will I learn?
During this course, you will gain skills and knowledge in:

  1. Preparation: Includes consultation skills, skin analysis techniques, and selecting products based on skin types and needs.
  2. Treatment Techniques: Practical skills like exfoliation, facial massage, mask application, and facial moisturising.
  3. Health and Safety: Safe hygiene practices and understanding the importance of health and safety legislation.
  4. Aftercare and Client Advice: Offering tailored advice for post-treatment skincare and lifestyle adjustments to maintain skin health.
Additional Information: 

Assessment
To achieve this qualification, you will complete both practical assessments and a written test. Your practical skills will be assessed through observations by a qualified assessor, and you’ll also sit two external tests to assess your theoretical understanding.

Progression
Upon successful completion, you may consider progressing to a full Beauty Therapy qualification course. This qualification provides a valuable stepping stone for those aiming to build a career in beauty therapy.

After applying for a place on this course, you will complete an initial assessment. Once you have completed this, we will offer you a place on this course, or signpost you to a more suitable alternative if necessary.

Most of our courses are subsidised either wholly or in part by the Adult Skills Fund (ASF). The ASF require us to collect information about our learners to monitor how their funding is being spent and to gauge the effectiveness of our equality and diversity policy. You will therefore be asked to submit further enrolment data once you have booked your place. We only collect data that is required by the ASF and use it in line with our privacy notice. We may not be able to offer you a place on our courses if you're unable to provide us with the required information. We endeavour to continue to provide free and subsidised courses for the people of Worcestershire.

Course Fee: £300.00
You will be able to join this course for Free/No charge, if you meet one of the following criteria:
  • I am unemployed AND I can show evidence of Job Seeker's Allowance (JSA), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit (UC single - income under £892  per month or UC joint - income under £1437 per month)
  • I am unemployed, but I am not claiming any benefits and cannot provide a UC statement. I need to speak to someone about my eligibility for this course.
