Description:
A course for parents, carers wanting to learn more about their child’s maths in Primary School at Key Stage 1 and 2 (Year R 1,2, 3, 4, 5 & 6). This course will be a gentle and supportive approach where we have a go ourselves with activities children would do in school so you might feel better about supporting your child at home with maths. You will learn how to support your child with their learning at home which will include tips and tricks to understand the maths they are taught in education. It will be a supportive group where you can interact with others and make some resources to use at home.
You will be taught methods for solving maths problems in school, number and place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions and measurements. The course will hopefully help you feel more confident with your own maths and may spark an interest for you to progress onto further maths courses for yourself.
Additional Information: Most of our courses are subsidised either wholly or in part by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). The ESFA require us to collect information about our learners to monitor how their funding is being spent and to gauge the effectiveness of our equality and diversity policy. You will therefore be asked to submit further enrolment data once you have booked your place. We only collect data that is required by the ESFA, and use it in line with our privacy notice. We may not be able to offer you a place on our courses if you're unable to provide us with the required information.
