A course for parents and carers interested in learning more about their child’s Literacy skills in Key Stage 1 and 2. You will learn how to support your child with their learning at home which will include tips and tricks to understand the Literacy skills they are being taught in education on this course in a gentle and supportive way with a group and tutor together.
You will learn about Literacy in school, the importance of books and reading with your child, ideas to make many resrouces to build on your child’s imagination, different creative and messy ideas to encourage your child’s early writing skills as well as suggestions on sharing books together and finding different print in the environment. You will learn that their English lessons are made up of reading writing, speaking and listening skills. You will be given tips on how to encourage your child to read more, how to support your child to create and plan their own versions of familiar and non-fiction stories with start, middle and ends and learn how to empower your child to tell stories aloud and perform out loud. You will have the chance to make some resources and try different key skills on this enjoyable course.
