The quality of minutes produced is going to be very important in the new Ofsted framework. The inspectors will be looking at the minutes as part of their preparation before they even set foot in the school.
What do yours look like? Are you proud that they demonstrate the strategic engagement of the governing body or are they some outline notes which don’t tell much of the story?
This course will show you examples of strong effective minutes and the way in which they reflect the strategic discussions of the board. Governance professionals will gain a detailed insight into what should or should not be included. The course will help Chairs to effectively critique draft minutes and the knowledge gained will feed into helping Chairs to ensure that the meeting is run effectively.
We will also cover what needs to go into the confidential minutes. There will be time for group discussion. This course will also be helpful for new Chairs of Governing Boards and Committees and for those considering stepping up to a Chair role. The courses will also be useful for experienced Chairs who have been in post for some time and who might be wondering what impact the new Ofsted framework will have on practices and procedures around meetings
