7552: Achieving positive outcomes for children on the Autism Spectrum

This virtual session aims to explore the lived experience of children on the autism spectrum to enhance our understanding of feelings, thoughts and behaviours of those with autism. It will also examine how professionals can support individuals on the autism spectrum and their families to achieve improved quality of life and better outcomes.  The examples included in this training will be based around children with autism spectrum conditions.
Learning Objectives:
- Sharing theoretical explanations for understanding Autism
- Recognising diversity in autism spectrum conditions and the prevalence of co-morbid mental health conditions
- Dispel the myths and stereotypes of autism spectrum conditions.
- Understanding heightened emotional responses and how to support (including the difficulties of transitions)
- Review of the services/signposting that is available in Worcestershire
