7247: Attachment theory: Role of trauma and loss in shaping future behaviours

This course is for all practitioners who work directly with children, young people, their families and carers.
This course will examine how the behaviours we see displayed in children and families have been shaped by their early childhood attachment experience.

• Understand early attachment patterns as hypostasised by Bowlby
• Explore recent developments in neuroscience to explain attachment patterns
• Recognise behavioural presentations associated with the differing attachment styles
• Understand the scope of your role in supporting children with insecure attachment patterns
• Develop your confidence in supporting parents/carers to understand their role in modifying attachment  
        patterns
